Dear composers all over the world,
many thanks for participating at the Mahler Composition-Competition!
More than 260 works from 30 countries reached the competition in the category orchestra.
The Austrian Composers Society is very glad to announce the awardees:

1. David Philip Hefti, Switzerland, *1975: „Wendepunkt“
2. Rita Ueda, Canada, *1963: „as the snowflakes return to the sky“
3. David Lukáš, Czech Republic, *1981: „Symphonie No 1 - Des cauchemars et des reves“

The world premiere of “Wendepunkt” will be on March 25th, 2011 by the Radio-Symphony Orchestra Vienna (RSO) under the baton of its chief conductor Cornelius Meister at the Wiener Konzerthaus. The concert will be recorded and broadcasted by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation at Radio Oe1. The works of the second and third awardees will be produced by the ORF and if wished, all awarded works will be published by the Austrian music publisher “Musikverlag Doblinger”

13.09.2009 David performed with the BSOP festive concert in Vysoke Myto, with program of W.A.Mozart: Piano cobcerto A-dur KV488 and Requiem KV 626

David is a chief condictor of Bohemian symphony orchestra Prague from January 2009

6.11. David performed at the festival \"Days of contemporary music in the concert works of Eva Kalavské-Faltusové and Jaromir Vogel with a small chamber groups. 13.11. conducted at the same festival feature a concert with the Talich Chamber Orchestra and the solists Jiří Bachtík (trumpet) and Daniel Skála (dulcimer) works of Lubos Sluka, Milan Báchorek, Pavel Blatný, Milan Jíra and Miroslav Hlaváč.

2.11. and 17.11. 2008 David Lukas involved as musical director for the recording of film music for a new Czech film Veni Vidi Vici. Filming took place in the studio Sono Records in Unhošť near Prague.
